Our Baptist History
Baptist Beginnings in Singapore
The Baptist church in Singapore officially began in 1937 with the formation of the Overseas-Chinese (Swatow) Baptist Church, now known as Thomson Road Baptist Church.

The growth of the Baptist witness in Singapore has continued in remarkable ways from the early years to the present day. By 2012, 37 Baptist Churches have become members of the Singapore Baptist Convention.

“The Singapore Baptist Family Story: 1970-2000+” written by Russel A. Morris (aka Pastor Buddy Morris) in 2007 for the Singapore Baptist Convention, is a well-documented and detailed account of the various churches and their development in Singapore.

Copies of the book are available at the Convention office.
